Description
A web app for event producers, stage managers and MCs. Event days slip because nobody shares one timeline, and when one segment overruns, nobody knows what it does to the rest of the night. Prompt Corner keeps that timeline in one place and redoes the sums as the show runs.
Plan each segment with a length, an owner, a cue and, where it matters, a hard start time such as dinner at 20:00. Start times chain together, gaps and clashes are flagged, and each owner keeps one tape colour on a strip that draws the whole show to scale.
On the day, press Go to move through the show. You get a big countdown, the next segment and its cue, a red Standby lamp in the last minute, and a live forecast of everything still to come. If you fall behind, add or take off a minute, cut a segment, or press Catch up: it finds the next deadline you would miss and proposes trims to the segments you marked as trimmable. A full-screen stage display shows the clock to the speaker, and a report at the end compares plan with reality.
Rehearse runs the whole show at a minute per second, so you can try it right now in the demo: press Load example, then Rehearse.
Built as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no server or running costs. A ready tool for one producer on one device, or a starting point for a product with shared crew links.

What works
- Segments with length, owner, cue and optional hard start time
- Start times chained automatically, with gaps and clashes shown
- Reorder, edit and remove segments, with undo for removing
- Colour-coded owners and a to-scale tape strip of the show
- Live view with countdown, now, next, cue and show clock
- Standby and Go cue lamps
- Live forecast that moves as a segment overruns, and absorbs lateness in gaps before hard times
- Plus or minus a minute, cut or bring back a segment
- Catch up: proposed trims to reach the next hard time or the planned finish
- Full-screen stage display
- Rehearsal mode at one minute per second
- Plan against actual report after the show
- Copy for crew chat and print
- 12 or 24 hour clock, shows running past midnight
- A running show survives a page reload on the same device
- Works on phones and desktops, with 25 logic tests
What’s unfinished
- No shareable crew link, accounts or sync: crew cannot follow along on their own phones, so the stage display must run on the producer's device or a screen connected to it
- One show at a time, with no date and no saved library of shows
- No Hold button: the show clock cannot be paused
- Clearing browser data deletes the show, and there is no export file or backup
- No service worker, so it needs a connection to load the first time and is not installable
- Printing was checked with a print-layout preview, not on paper, and may be blocked inside the sandboxed demo
- Interface is English only

Technologies
HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES modules), localStorage, Node test runner
Setup requirements
Upload the files to any static web host. To try it locally, run python3 -m http.server and open http://localhost:8000. Run the tests with npm test (Node 20 or newer).
Dependencies and ongoing costs
None to pay for. It is a static site that runs free on any web host. Fonts load from Google Fonts (Saira Stencil One and Atkinson Hyperlegible, SIL Open Font Licence) and fall back to system fonts.
Known limitations
Data lives in localStorage on one device. Sharing the live show with a crew would need a small real-time backend.
