Pricewell

An instant quote widget for any business website, with a no-code studio. Visitors answer a few questions, see a price and leave their details.

Description

Most service businesses lose people at "contact us for a quote". Pricewell puts a live price on the website instead. A visitor answers a few questions, watches the estimate update, sees a clear breakdown and leaves their details. The business gets a warm lead with the whole quote attached.

It comes in two parts. The studio is a no-code editor where the owner builds the form and sees the real widget update as they type, with undo, phone preview and warnings about broken logic. It also works out the cheapest and dearest quote the form can give, so a pricing mistake shows up before a customer sees it. The widget is one dependency-free file that goes on any website, including WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and hand-built sites.

The pricing engine is the real work. It supports add-ons, multipliers, per-unit charges, free allowances, graduated and volume pricing bands, conditional questions, rule-based discounts, minimum prices, rounding, tax and price ranges. Amounts are worked out in whole cents, so totals never pick up rounding errors.

Leads go by webhook to Zapier, Make or a CRM. The form can ask for details before or after showing the price, with spam protection and a consent box. Analytics events feed Google Tag Manager. The widget speaks English, Hebrew with a right-to-left layout, Spanish, French and German, and it sits in a Shadow DOM so it can't clash with the host site's styles. Templates for cleaning, web agencies and movers are included. Sell it as a one-off, or host it for clients as a monthly add-on.

What works

  • No-code studio with a live preview of the real widget
  • Undo and redo, phone preview and warnings about broken forms
  • Cheapest and dearest quote calculated from your form
  • Pick one, pick several, number and yes or no questions
  • Conditional questions that depend on earlier answers
  • Add-ons, multipliers, per-unit charges and free allowances
  • Graduated and volume pricing bands
  • Rule-based discounts, minimum price, rounding, tax and ranges
  • Lead capture before or after the price, with consent box and honeypot spam trap
  • Webhook delivery with an error message and retry if it fails
  • Inline or floating button placement, with keyboard support
  • Brand colour, corners and five languages including Hebrew
  • Google Tag Manager events and custom page events
  • Copy-paste embed code, plus config download and load
  • Three ready-made templates
  • 16 engine tests and an automated browser run, including pasting the code into a blank page

What’s unfinished

  • No accounts, server or dashboard: leads go only to your webhook, so a form with no webhook sends them nowhere
  • No built-in email notifications or lead storage
  • No payments or deposits
  • The webhook URL is visible in the page source, so use one that only accepts leads
  • A real webhook delivery wasn't tested, because hosted demos block outgoing requests
  • Spam protection is a hidden field only, with no rate limiting or CAPTCHA
  • The studio itself is English only, and the translated widget text hasn't had native review
  • Not yet tried on a live WordPress, Shopify, Wix or Webflow site

Setup requirements

Upload the files to any static web host and open index.html to use the studio. Upload embed/pricewell.js to the target site and paste the code from the Install tab. Run the tests with npm test (Node 20 or newer).

Dependencies and ongoing costs

None. It's static files that run free on any web host, with no server or API keys. Sending leads needs a webhook from a service such as Zapier or Make.

Known limitations

Prices are calculated in the visitor's browser, so a technical visitor can read the pricing rules. Treat quotes as estimates, and confirm them before billing. The hosted demo can't send leads, and shows the data it would have sent instead.
