Description
A focused web app for tool hire shops and community workshops, where equipment goes missing because nobody knows who has it. Every item gets its own outline on a pegboard wall. When it's out, the outline stays empty and a tag hangs there with the customer and due date.
Check items out with a customer, due date, deposit and condition note. Check them back in and the app works out the hire days, nets off the deposit and shows what the customer owes or is due back. Tags turn yellow on the due date and red once overdue, and a Needs chasing clipboard lists who to call.
Items that come back damaged can be flagged for repair, which blocks them from being hired until they're fixed. The Out now view shows deposits held and hire so far, and the Log keeps every finished hire, with CSV export.
Built as plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no server or running costs. A ready tool for a single counter, or a distinctive starting point for a hire product.

Technologies
HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES modules), localStorage, Node test runner
Setup requirements
Upload the files to any static web host. To try it locally, run python3 -m http.server and open http://localhost:8000. Run the tests with npm test (Node 20 or newer).
Dependencies and ongoing costs
No paid services. It is a static site that runs free on any web host. Fonts (Big Shoulders Stencil, Familjen Grotesk, Kalam) load from Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, with system fonts as a fallback.
Known limitations
Data lives in localStorage on one device, so it suits a single counter. For several devices or branches you would add accounts and a database.
